John Entsminger is the general manager for the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) and the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA).
He was approved by the Water District Board of Directors to serve in this position effective Feb. 5, 2014, succeeding Pat Mulroy, who retired from the agency.
Entsminger has been with LVVWD and SNWA since 1999. While serving as the deputy general counsel for SNWA, he was instrumental in the negotiations and eventual execution of the 2007 Colorado River Interim Guidelines, and he continues to serve as SNWA's lead negotiator on Colorado River matters. He has played a significant role in multiple interstate and intrastate processes to protect the future of Nevada's water resources.
Entsminger is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and legal studies, and the University of Colorado School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Charles N. Woodruff Natural Resources Law Fellowship.
