Winter
watering restrictions in effect Nov. 1
Mandatory watering restrictions limit landscape watering
to one assigned day per week from Nov. 1 through Feb. 28.
Watering restrictions also apply to drip irrigation. Sunday is not an optional watering day.
As a Water District customer, you have an assigned
watering group. Check your monthly bill or go to the Southern
Nevada Water Authority Web site to find your watering group.
Irrigation Tips
- Water with sprinklers in three cycles of four minutes each,
spaced about an hour apart.
- Water in the late morning or afternoon
to avoid freezing pipes in colder weather.
- Run drip irrigation in one longer cycle. Drip watering
time depends upon your emitter type, but ranges in length from 12
minutes to two hours. See our drip
watering tips for details.
Water Waste
Failure to comply with watering restrictions will result
in a water waste fee. You may request a 30-day exemption to water a new landscape or reseeded landscape daily for up to 30 days after the initial planting. This exemption is allowed once per calendar year. Call 822-8571 before planting so we can make note of this on your water account. View other exemptions from water waste restrictions.
Daylight-saving time ends
When you "fall back" this year, don't forget to reset
your irrigation clock as well as your indoor clocks. Daylight-saving
time ends on the first Sunday of November at 2 a.m.
