Rate Schedule 2006-2009

In January 2006, the Las Vegas Valley Water District Board of Directors approved a new water rates structure that will increase annually through 2009.  This increase is necessary to fund projects that are required to enhance system reliability and treat the water for naturally-occurring arsenic found in the Searchlight water system. 

Beginning in 2006 and through 2009, the monthly service charge for the first 10,000 gallons of water will increase annually by 3 percent.  Similar annual increases will apply to the water rate for each 1,000 gallons of usage over 10,000 gallons per month.  Rate increases will take effect March 1 of each year. A chart detailing these changes is below.

The changes to the rate structure were first presented at the November 2005 Searchlight Town Advisory Board meeting by Las Vegas Valley Water District representatives, and received unanimous support of the town board members.
