Blue Diamond rates, fees and service rules
New water rates are in effect as of Jan. 1, 2022. While Blue Diamond water rates have not increased since 1992, the increase is necessary to:
- establish a reserve fund for the long-term maintenance of new water system components
- continue funding daily operations
- fund community conservation programs
In May 2021, the Red Rock Citizens Advisory Committee recommended a five-tier rate structure to help incentive water conservation throughout the community. Under the new structure, residents who use fewer gallons of water each month will have lower bills than those who use more water.
The Las Vegas Valley Water District Board of Directors approved the rate increase on August 2, 2021.
The rate increase will be phased in gradually between 2022 and 2025. Starting in 2026, water rates will adjust annually in accordance with the Consumer Price Index.
