Combination Service

Graphic of non-residential combination service bill with sections outlined and described on this page.
  1. About your service: Your service address and specific information regarding your meter(s), current and previous read dates and water usage are shown here.
  2. Usage chart: Review your average daily water use over a 12-month period to identify usage trends.
  3. Service charge: All customers are billed this charge, based on meter size(s), for the direct costs of meter reading, maintenance and billing.
  4. Tier billing: The rate structure is designed to encourage conservation: The more water you use, the higher the cost of water. Your rate tiers are based on meter size.
  5. SNWA Commodity Charge: This is a Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) charge per 1,000 gallons of water. The funds are used to improve water quality and enhancements to the water system.
  6. SNWA Infrastructure Charge: The SNWA infrastructure charge is calculated daily and varies based on meter size. This charge helps pay for large water system projects including a critical new intake and low lake level pumping station designed to protect Southern Nevada during severe drought conditions.
  7. SNWA Reliability Surcharge: This charge is based on the premise that customers have varying levels of need for water and should pay accordingly. While everyone expects water to flow when they turn on the tap, some customers – such as businesses – have a greater need for system reliability, especially during peak usage periods. The surcharge, which is applied against the total water bill with a few line-item exceptions, is 2.5 percent for non-residential customers.

Fire Line Service

  1. About Your Service: Your service address and specific information regarding your meter, current and previous read dates and water usage are shown here.
  2. Register Constant: Water consumption through a designated fire line is authorized for fire suppression or fire system testing only. The register constant represents a "multiplier" that is based on meter size and applied to fire lines when they register unauthorized consumption. If consumption is registered, the customer will be charged at the third tier consumption rate, multiplied by this number.
  3. Service Charge: All customers are billed this charge, based on meter size, for the direct costs of meter reading, maintenance and billing.
  4. Backflow Prevention Assemblies: All customers having backflow prevention assemblies above or below ground are required to pay daily service charges for each assembly, required by the Water District. This charge is based on assembly size, and is in addition to other daily service charges.
  5. SNWA Infrastructure Charge: The SNWA infrastructure charge is calculated on a daily basis and varies based on meter size. This charge helps pay for large water system projects including a critical new intake and low lake level pumping station designed to protect Southern Nevada during severe drought conditions.
