Water waste fees and policies

Fees assessed for the first time can be refunded for those who successfully complete our "Curbing Water Waste" online test within 60 days of the fee notice date. To enroll, email us or call 702-862-3764.

Customers also may appeal the fee and have an independent hearing. Those who have design flaws requiring more time to correct may be offered an extension.

Fees double with additional violations and are assessed consecutively based upon the previous 18-month history for the account.

Water waste ordinances

Many of the regulations in the Service Rules are supported by city and county ordinances. In addition, Clark County and the City of Las Vegas have developed codes specifying landscaping requirement for new developments and turf limitations.

If a city or county ordinance overlaps or contradicts regulations in the service rules, the service rules will have precedence within the Water District’s service area.

For more information about watering restrictions, see the conservation section within the Service Rules.

The municipality conservation codes are available at library.municode.com.

For additional information, contact the City of Las Vegas at 702-229-6301 or Clark County at 702-455-4314.
